A mate-less sock, a baby clothes hanger, duct tape, and cardboard.
Found sticks, hemp twine, and cram cream tape. (With a pink tulle apron.)
We have a 'no gun' rule at our home that started as a 'no weapon' rule. But you can see that my little negotiator worked swords, knives, bows, and hooks into the deal ("it's part of the costume! I can make it myself!" How could I argue with that?). I'm glad (most of the time) that we negotiated that one -I can't believe the creativity he's poured into making things (of the weapon and non-weapon sort--no need to worry). As a parent, I am totally stretched out of my comfort zone over and over again. I never could have imagined or believed that I'd be inspired by um, weaponry. But I am inspired by his ingenuity. I really, really am.
