tis the season for hot glue
Am I the only one who gets a little nutty with the hot glue this time of year? Seriously, it sits in waiting nearly all year, used only a handful of times. Until December, when it finds a permanent spot on my crafting table. There's just something about the holidays that make glue guns, glitter and sequins *just* right in my book. I'm really an organic, natural kinda gal, but something comes over me in December that makes me say 'bring on the glitz'. Anyway. I made this frame wreath last night after seeing the one by fellow Portlander Meg, of Pixiegenne (hi neighbor!). I placed a picture in the center of the wreath, and added a bit of cardstock and then felt to the back of that. It's the same photo that's in my banner (and, um, on my desktop too). I just loved that moment. Adelaide's in a real in-between stage for our trail walks. She doesn't want to be in the stroller or sling, but she can't quite manage the walks alone. She picked up this basket on the way out the door and was insistent on bringing it out with her, where she carried it with her the whole length of the trail adding bits of leaves and rocks as she walked. Pleased as punch with herself (did I just say 'pleased as punch?')
Thanks so much for all of your support with the shop yesterday. It's nearly sold out, and I've got several orders for more placemats that I'll be working on this weekend. And then, it's all about the festivities for the rest of the month. The stockings are hung. Advent has begun. The woodstove is ready to go. The tree goes up tomorrow. Oh, I love this time of year.

I *love* the button frame! Hmm..I just happen to have stash of buttons from a shopping trip and a hot glue gun. Just when I told myself I wasn't going to start another new project, lol!

The button frame is gorgeous. I have ben following your blog for a while, and find it inspirational, but this is my first comment. I have started by own blog now, if you want to have a look. I will be enjoying your Christmas decorations by proxy this year - we are moving house over the 2 days before Christmas this year, so no decorations :-(

Hot glue and the holidys! Me too. Only I can't find my hot glue gun because I don't use it very often. I had all my stuff out today including gold glitter glue sticks but no hot glue gun.
When I find it, I'll be "pleased as punch".
Very pretty button wreath.

I love when I see things that I do....this is about the only time of year that the hot melt glue gun comes out....and stays out....Rob just tonight mentioned that the craft room has encroache dupon the dining room table as well...and there in the midst of it all sits my hot melt glue gun!
I made a frame similar to that not long ago as well as some ornaments, clear glass ornaments with buttons hot melt glued all over...sooo adorable, but then I forgot to glue the metal top to the bulb and as I brought them outside to show Rob, they both crashed to the ground and broke :( I started over though and came up with some pretty pretty ornaments....LOVE the gun!!

It's delightful. I have only been visiting your blog for about a month and I am really enjoying it. It's facinating watching people the other side of the world getting reading for Christmas and winter - while we are getting ready for the Summer!

I love all your posts. Your creativity is inspiring.
But thanks especially for this post, because it reminded me I still had my glue gun plugged in from 6 hours before. oops.

Just darling! I have got the button-bug too after seeing Stephanie's wreath. This photo idea is super! I confess, there is a small part of me that really likes a little bling at Christmas too.

Love the glitz confession, Amanda. Because, really, would it be Christmas without a little bling? Would it? I think not. We're glitzing it up over here at the Thompsons too. xoxo
