Self Portrait Tuesday

Coffeepin

This is what I saw as I got to the bottom of my Sunday coffee (yes, I know...SUNDAY coffee--I'm on the slippery slope down to daily caffeine addiction). Yes, that's A SEWING PIN IN MY COFFEE. It must have fallen in when I was cutting out a pattern. The kicker, though, is that Steve is always after me about where he (and worse--the kids) find my pins--on the couch, the carpet, the tables, etc....and of course I ignore him and reassure him that "they always just pick up my pins and put them where they belong!".

Think this is the motivation we need to get my craft space OUT of the living room? Ah...a Room of My Own....it's coming, it's coming! ;)

Self Portrait bloggers here. A fantastic October theme of a Self Documentary Series. I've had an idea for that, but not the time yet to follow through with it...next week perhaps!

all i can say is .... just wait until you're on the one cup of coffee per day kick. you are going to LOVE it!!!!! :) :) stay safe! mav

Oooh, imagine drinking that down with your last gulp of coffee! Ouch!

I'm guilty of leaving pins all over the place. Bad me! I actually do have a sewing room, but I prefer to sew in the kitchen where all the activity is. I feel too isolated in my sewing room.

coffee is a mama's best friend. I'm glad I'm not the only one ;)

I love this picture. I too was once coffee free...no longer though...two babies under 2 requires something extra....coffee... yummy yummy coffee :)

Oooo that picture scares me!! :) Those same pin conversations have gone on over here too!
I have a very long shag rug in the livingroom and if a pin falls there, its lost forever until someone steps on it...which has happend!
Not a good thing.

YIkes! and that's so funny I just got a lecture last night about pins in the dining room. My hubby is totally freaked about pins, he believes, and I don't know if this is true or not that if you step on a pin and it goes in a vein it can travel all through your system and go to your heart (sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but terrifying to him all the same) enjoy your java!

that picture makes my throat hurt! oh coffee... how you prey on the mamas...

Too funny - I get the same "talk" from my husband. Not only about leaving pins around but also stich markers and other crafty acoutraments that could get lodged in the baby's throat or cause bodily harm to the unaware. The irony is that my I'm usually the one to step on a pin in my bare feet! My kids have much better eyes than I do :)

Good luck on getting your crafty room - how exciting.

Happy One Month to baby Adelaide

Oh god, I always PANIC when I drop a pin! Not to say that I still haven't found some in some very bad places...like in the carpet in the bean's room.

Ahhh...coffee. I still can't imagine how I made it through those nine months without it!

I'm surprised this hasn't happened at our house. Mia's best friend likes to come over and pick up all my "pokey things" around the house. She always finds 2 or 3.

Thank goodness you found it! I always seem to lose pins so matter how careful I am. They should make them with glow in the dark heads so you can just turn off the lights when one goes stray.

Egads! I'm so glad you saw it before it made it's way into your mouth!

My husband is always after me about the same thing, mainly because one of our dogs does pick up every tiny thing and try to eat it. I swear those pins grow legs and run around at night though! haha

isn't that funny, my husband has the same pin and needle issues.

That's hysterical. I love this blog.

Long story, but our older son still has a slight scar on his stomach from a scratch from a dpn knitting needle that was in my back pocket while I was giving him a piggy back ride when he was probably two and I went to set him down by sliding him down my back.
I'm sure they've been scarred in other ways, too, by my obsessive knitting.
On a much lighter note, it's so exciting that you're going to have your own craft room! At least there will be a place to put all those stray needles and things.
We've been working on my craft space too this weekend, putting up insulation and drywall...not so much fun, but exciting none the less.
Got to go brew another cup of cofee...
